Dressage Training
Education for Horse & Rider
USDF Certified Instructors
The dressage training you will receive at Excelsior will only be from approved instructors with several years of experience. Elizabeth Gagliardi, the facility owner and manager, is a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist, and is now a USDF Certified Instructor through 4th level, one of only 10 in our 8 State/Region. She has worked with many of the nations top instructors including Charles De Kunffy, Max Gawyler, Linda Tellington-Jones, Lilo Fore, Lendon Gray, and Hilda Gurney. Elizabeth has offered professional dressage training services for the past 20 years and competed her horse, Captain’s Alibi, through the Olympic level of Grand Prix.
Educational Opportunities
In 2002, Captain was the top Thoroughbred horse across the nation at Grand Prix. While Captain has since retired, we do have school masters available on a limited basis for lessons. Periodically, other nationally recognized instructors from across the country will be invited in for clinics. In addition, we plan on being a host site for USDF University programs. As a boarder, you can benefit from both auditing and participating in these clinics. We are always looking for ways to continue to educate the horse community and we are open to our boarders’ suggestions for other educational activities.
Training The Horse
At Excelsior, we are not just about dressage training and competitive showing. We offer training for green horses from ground work to Grand Prix levels of dressage and everything in between. We can help solidify flatwork, start a horse over cavelletti and work through all levels of dressage. We welcome all riders of every level and discipline, and we hope that you choose to continue your riding education with us.
If you are looking to go beyond the basics, then come to Hobart, Indiana and board at Excelsior…where riders come to learn and excel!
